Parent & Tot Classes:
This particular type of class is offered to boys & girls between the ages of 18 months and 3 year olds. This is a 45 minute class in which you, the parent, get to interact with your child for the entire class assisting your little one in their journey into the "world of gymnastics". This class is supervised by one of our professionally trained instructors, but actually "taught" by you, the parent! What a fun way to introduce your child to physical activity and mental stimulation.
Pre-School Classes:
For boys & girls between the ages of 3 - 5. NFGC offers you the lowest student/teacher ratio at the largest facility in the Orange Park area! Because safety is our number one priority, we limit the amount of students per class to only 3-4 students in our 3 Year Old classes and 6 students in our 4-5 Year Old classes. You can relax, knowing your little one is in our hands, having fun, learning to listen, experiencing strength training and coordination exercises, making new friends and beginning their adventure. They will learn to follow directions and focus on tasks, all in a fun filled one hour class - "their gymnastics class".
Recreational Classes:
This class is for boys & girls between the ages of 6 - 12. These classes are for our school age children and are offered Monday thru Friday 2pm-8pm and on Saturday 9am-12pm. This one hour class will challenge your child on state of the art gymnastic equipment. School age boys classes are taught by both male & female instructors, and will not only help build your son's muscles, but will also help build his confidence and self-esteem, all while he's having fun! Our boys only area includes the 4 men's apparatus (pommel horse, still rings, horizontal "high bar", and parallel bars) which only the boys train on. Boys also train on the floor exercise & the vault like the girls do.
Tumbling Classes:
One of our most popular classes is the 1 hour tumbling class, geared towards those trying to improve their tumbling skills so they can make their favorite cheerleading squad. Tumbling classes are divided into three categories - beginner, intermediate, and advanced - all training on the floor exercise, our 40' tumble track, and learning how to tumble into our resi pit so they can master new skills without the worry of injury. NFGC prides itself on teaching the "proper technique" to all of our tumblers to establish a solid foundation of basics to build upon.
Competitive Teams:
NFGC is not only the oldest established gymnastics school in Orange Park, but it is also the top competitive program in the entire North Florida area. In the last 5 years alone, NFGC has had eight of their gymnasts receive NCAA gymnastic scholarships - that's more than all area gyms combined (over 15)! NFGC boasts about it's 100+ State Champions along with it's high academic achievements that competitive teams are mandated to uphold. "We are not only the top competitive program in North Florida, but one of the top programs in the entire country" quotes owner/coach Mary Purvis. "We have mastered a way to train hard & fast so our top athletes can still manage to uphold their 4.0 GPA's and still keep up with the other top gymnasts in the country".
